My passion is to create virtual records of cultural and personal events that have impacted me greatly. My vision of replicating real-life events in stone allows me to transform emotions into lasting expressions of art for others to appreciate. I’ve achieved my goal when the U.S. government writes to tell me I cannot copyright a work of art because it too closely resembles the product thatI chose to record in stone. The day I received that letter was one of the happiest days of my life.

Kevin Brewerton
Visual Arts California Painter & International Champion Kickboxer

Brewerton made a name for himself as a five time world kickboxing champion. His charismatic and flamboyant style captured the imagination of his peers and kickboxing fans around the world. Martial Arts Illustrated wrote: “If anyone in the sport of Karate hasn’t heard of Kevin Brewerton, then they must have been in a coma for the last ten years. If the sport of kickboxing karate was a sleeping giant, then it was Brewerton who came along
and woke it up.” Whether martial art or abstract art, it’s all the same to him. Brewerton’s philosophy that everything is art leads him to explore various mediums, which includes film. His provocative silent short film Metamorphosis, which he wrote and directed, won grand prize at the 2008, Richard Lawson Film Festival.

“I grew up hating art,” Brewerton says. “I didn’t understand it. Growing up in a coal mining town taught me that art was only for the rich. So, I resented it. I thought it was just pretty pictures, ridiculous empty canvases or abstracts that anyone could paint. I didn’t realize that art is about communication and creating a mirror in which to see one’s self.”

Julie Snyder
California Visual Arts Painter

Oil painter, Julie Snyder’s Daily Drill is a National Museum of Sport award winning art piece. Julia was inspired to paint the piece to celebrate an important first, the introduction of both men & women in Olympic competition during the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London. Snyder says she was inspired by watching footage & images of boxer Anita Queen Underwood, then the US best hopeful for a Gold Metal in the 2012 Games(Claressa Shields of the United States brought home the middleweight gold medal in women’s boxing).

A native of Scotland, artist Julie Snyder studied drawing and painting at the Glasgow School of Art. The setting itself was extraordinary and inspiring. Architect Charles Rennie Macintosh designed the Art School in 1897, combining his unique style of Scottish tradition with Art Nouveau. Julie Snyder was encouraged to pursue her art by an artist-mother and a writer-father.

Julie’s artistic career has spanned both sides of the Atlantic and included several years of residence in Southern Spain. Julie Snyder forged her craft as an illustrator in advertising, publishing and the motion picture industry, including Warner Bros.

Her work hangs in collections and galleries across the country. The National Art Museum of Sport honored her three times, including her paintings of boxers “Before the bell” and “Seeking the Target” in their annual exhibits and awarding Snyder the prestigious gold medal for painting in 2013 for her painting “Daily Drill”. Her painting of chefs from the historic Blinn House “Blinn House Kitchen Chefs” hung in Contemporary Masters | Artistic Eden exhibition at the Pasadena Museum of History.
